"Biblically Centered Training with a Focus on Excellence and Diligence"
Ballet 3 is Elaia's Intermediate - Early Advanced level targeted towards building strength and endurance, refining technique, and developing a dancer's artistry. Elaia offers up to three classes for dancers including an hour and a half pointe/pre-pointe class. Teachers of Ballet 3 include Sarah Engel, former ballet studio co-director of Ballet Aresko and Ballet dancer and teacher Juliet Sage.
The Ballet 3 level is broken into two sublevels of A and B. Ballet 3A is for older Elaia students who have an enthusiasm for dance but cannot currently commit to several hours a week of dancing. Students in the Ballet 3A level may also include older dancers who are newer to ballet but who are willing to put in the effort and commitment to a more intermediate level class. Ballet 3A students may enroll in the Intermediate Ballet Core class in addition to their class level, but are not eligible for pro-pointe or pointe classes.
Ballet 3B students have had previous ballet experience and have been assigned to this level according to their strength and ability. Students in this level are expected to be taking classes at least twice a week and may also be enrolled in pre-pointe*.
*Only students who have been offered to pointe by previous studios or by Elaia instructors may enroll in the pre-pointe class. Simply being a Ballet 3B student does not automatically make dancers eligible for pre-pointe.
At the Ballet 3 level, students should not expect to bring their point shoes to classes other than the pre-pointe or pointe class(es). Ballet 3 students are expected to arrive on time, according to dress code and hair requirements, and are expected to remain engaged throughout the entirety of class. Ballet 3B students will be assigned recommended homework both for strengthening and flexibility.
For new students, with pointe experience, who need placement into the pre-pointe class, please email info@elaia.academy so we can make registration for the pre-pointe class available to your dancer. You will not be able to register for the pre-pointe class otherwise as it is hidden to avoid any confusion or mixups.
This is a two-hour ballet class for the Ballet 3 level. Elaia students at the Ballet 3A or 3B level are expected to take this class as a foundation to their learning at Elaia Academy.

About Warm Ups:
These garments that are not part of the ballet uniform are used to help dancers’ muscles warm up while they prepare for class. They are permitted for all levels only at the barre until the teacher instructs dancers to remove their warm-ups for class. While Elaia Academy does not currently possess strict guidelines on warm-ups, they should be lightweight, flexible, and not too baggy, with the intention of keeping the dancer warm while they prepare for dancing in the center. Prohibited articles include: coats, outdoor jackets, sweatshirts with a hood, shoes, socks, jeans, pants loose around the ankles, heavy skirts, belts, gloves, scarves, or hats.
